Resume

My love of Art and Design developed at school, but I was equally keen on Chemistry and Mathematics which I also pursued at A Level - and this training underpin many aspects of my current design activity. But even at this early stage I was drawn to Ceramics.

Heart  of England School

2000-2007

I undertook a general Art and Design Foundation Course at Coventry University. During this time I was able to experiment with multiple materials and extend my skills into areas such as glass and woodwork in addition to continuing to further my pursuit of ceramics.  My exposure to Fine Arts inspires my sculptural work. During this period I decided that Ceramics would be the main focus of my artist expression.

University of Coventry

2007-2008

Being tutored under Gwen Heeney, I developed a passion for large scale carving with brick as a principal medium.  I have developed my hand-building to include the use of extruded sections and thrown items.  A key focus of my research has been into glaze formulation, inspired by my earlier interests in Chemistry.
